Canada Government Support For COVID-19

The Canadian government has issued plenty of benefits and services to assist those individuals affected by the pandemic. Some of these include:


Individuals under the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB), Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB), and Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) are entitled to receive an increase in the number of weeks of benefits available for employment insurance regular benefits. This increase makes sure that the individual has access to income support while the economy is slowly getting back on track.

Fully vaccinated international travellers will be allowed to enter the country. They are no longer required to book a 3-night hotel stopover when entering Canada. If you are not fully vaccinated, then you are required to mandatory isolate and quarantine.

Provincial support and benefits available for those individuals affected with COVID-19 such as:

Employment Insurance (EI) programs to support Canadian citizens who require financial assistance.

Providing additional financial support of up to CAD 1200 to families who have children under the age of six.

The Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program (HASCAP) provides businesses heavily impacted by COVID-19 access guaranteed, low-interest loans of $25,000 to $1 million to cover operational cash flow needs.

Providing support for self-employed individuals contracted with COVID-19. Up to CAD 500 per week.

Loan guarantee for small and medium-sized businesses.

Providing support to indigenous businesses during the pandemic.

Funding for live arts, music, and sports to support the planning of COVID-19 safe events.
